HOME PRACTICE - EXMOUTH WA - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

My Approach

Motion begins in the nervous system.

Movement is an output of the brain. Care at Modern Motion looks beyond the joint to how your nervous system takes in information and responds, and pairs that with a strong biomechanical understanding of how your body moves and loads. You leave understanding what is happening and why.

‍ ‍

You can expect:

  • A thorough assessment, including neurological and musculoskeletal examination

  • Clear education at every visit

  • Collaborative care, guided by current evidence

  • Care tailored to you, from babies to seniors

  • Care tailored to your situation, from pregnancy and sport to injury, posture, work and lifestyle

INJURY AND PERFORMANCE

Biomechanics beyond the spine

Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat neuromusculoskeletal presentations, which means the muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves of the whole body, not only the spine. I especially enjoy working with specific injuries, combining hands-on care with progressive rehabilitation and clear guidance on what to do between visits.

ABOUT

Hello, I’m Naomi

I was born in Tasmania and grew up in Newcastle, and have lived and worked in many places. I was a competitive dancer for many years, and I love fine-tuning technique and working with dancers or performance based sports. Working as a flight attendant gave me a love of travel, and I now love camping and immersing my family in new experiences. I later became a whale shark dive guide in Exmouth, where tourism showed me how much I enjoy working with people.

I studied chiropractic and worked alongside one of Australia's leading sports chiropractors, learning to treat the whole body with a patient-centred approach. I have been practising since 2022.

Women's health and pregnancy care is another part of my work that I really enjoy. I support women through pre and post natal care, through all three trimesters and after your baby arrives, and talk through the chemical, physical and emotional changes along the way.

I'm a working mother of two, and that shapes how I care for children and families. I practise in a trauma-informed way and I'm always learning, especially about the nervous system and regulation.

Outside the clinic you'll often find me in the garden. I love bringing nutrition into my practice and education, and like my learning, it is forever evolving.
